Introducing Ralph English
Our newly called Pastor, Ralph English, was born in Washington D.C. His father’s civil service career led them to move back and forth between Northern Virginia and Germany.
Ralph graduated from Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt Germany in 1972, from the College of William and Mary in 1976, and Andover Newton Theological School in 1979.
After this ordination in his home church in Virginia in 1979, Ralph served four congregations in New York State. When he first retired in 2020, he and his wife, Sally Olsen, moved to Grantham, New Hampshire. He served as Pianist and Music Director for the Congregational Church in Wilmot NH for two years before serving as the Transitional Pastor of the Union Congregational Church in Hebron, NH for two years. After a brief pause, he joined us on December 15.
For twenty-eight of the years serving congregations in New York, Ralph was an Air Force Reserve and Air National Chaplain.
Ralph and his first wife are parents of two daughters. Laura, a Middle School Librarian, and her family live in Fairhaven, MA but also own a home in Rochester, Vermont. Melissa, an Air Force Colonel, and her family, live in Washington D.C.
Ralph and Sally enjoy kayaking, skiing, hiking, and their own pastimes. Sally quilts and Ralph enjoys working with his 200 sq foot Marklin HO digital model railway.
